A New Vision is a not-for-profit organisation registered in Singapore since 2011.
Their mission is to eradicate curable blindness and to restore the sights of the poor with a quick one off cataract surgery. A New Vision has since restored the sights of over 30,000 eyes in Asia region.
WAH's partnership with A New Vision will help to restore eyesights and renew lives of many poor and blind, who could not afford the surgery. The long term plan is to develop a centre of excellence for eye care in the province to reduce the blindness rate. This can be achieved by training the local healthcare workers to improve their knowledge on eye health. The knowledge on eye health can also be extended to the villagers. Community ophthalmology empowers the local community to understand the common eye diseases and to encourage the villagers to seek treatment.
WAH Foundation will be conducting a cataract surgical outreach between 11-14 June 2019 at Kampong Chhnang Eye Unit, located at the Provincial Hospital. The medical team from A New Vision will provide full medical support and also uplift the skills of the local community in the area of eye health.
